Methodology
This page describes how matchedbettors chooses what to review, scores it, tests it, refreshes it, and corrects it when we get something wrong. The methodology is the same regardless of whether the subject is EVSTREAM or a competitor.
1. How we choose what to review
Comparison universe must contain at least 5 entries. No pay-for-play. AU-relevance filter applies: the subject must be available to AU customers, the bookmaker must hold an AU licence, and the tool must operate within AU jurisdiction. Products that do not pass the AU-relevance filter do not enter the comparison universe.
2. Scoring rubric per category
For bookmakers: odds quality as a percentage above market average, weighted 25%; withdrawal speed, 15%; app rating, 10%; promo terms, 10%; RG tools, 15%; AU regulator standing, 25%. For tools: feature coverage versus the comparison universe, 30%; pricing, 15%; UX and onboarding, 15%; data accuracy, 20%; AU support, 20%. Each weight is documented and the methodology committee reviews all weights quarterly.
3. Test process
Minimum 30 days of active testing for any bookmaker review; longer for tool reviews where data accuracy needs more than 100 sample observations. Scenarios run: register a real account, deposit (small amount), withdraw, place a sample bet, contact support twice (one easy question, one complex), trigger RG tools (deposit limit, self-exclusion check). All steps logged with timestamps.
4. Dated-screenshot policy
Every screenshot is captioned with capture date and product version. Screenshots are refreshed quarterly or when the reviewed product ships a material UI change. The methodology page itself is reviewed quarterly.
5. Refresh cadence
Cornerstones are reviewed quarterly with a documented changelog. Spot updates are triggered by ACMA enforcement actions, bookmaker account-restriction changes, or material EVSTREAM changes. Each refresh updates the lastUpdated date stamp on the page.
6. Conflict-of-interest disclosure
matchedbettors.com.au is operated by Laid-back Ventures Pty Ltd ATF Laid-back Ventures Trust (LBVT), which also operates EVSTREAM. The matchedbettors.com.au domain is held by Laid-back Technologies Pty Ltd (LBT), the IP holding company. Read /disclosure for the full ownership relationship. EVSTREAM is included in our comparison universe and is scored using the same rubric as competitors. We disclose specific weaknesses where the methodology produces them.
7. Dispute and correction process
Email corrections@matchedbettors.com.au with subject line "Correction request (url)". We commit to acknowledge within 7 days. A public correction log will live at /corrections (coming in Phase 5). The reviewer who handles the correction is named in the changelog.
